SWIBN September Event – Imposter Syndrome

Hello Ladies!

We’re delighted to be back after our August break with our SWIBN September webinar. This month on the 29th September at 7pm, we shall be virtually talking about an issue that can be prevalent among businesswomen: imposter syndrome.

  • Are you not putting yourself forward for opportunities you know you’re well capable of?
  • Are you doubting your own abilities to deliver on your promises to your clients?
  • Are you thinking “everyone else” is so much better than you are?
  • Are you totally afraid of being “found out” as the fraud that you are?
  • Are you just going for this “one more qualification” and then you’ll feel capable?
  • Are you worried that you really are an imposter, that no one else feels like you?

During this webinar, Aoife O’Brien from Empowerment Coaching will talk about Imposter Syndrome: What it is, how it shows up, the kinds of imposter, and what we can do to overcome imposter Syndrome.

Before launching her own business, Empowerment Coaching, Aoife had a successful 17 years in the corporate world, working with global companies to solve marketing problems. She is passionate about empowering people to be happier at work. She works with organisations and individuals, running workshops, consultancy programs, and one-to-one sessions.  She is passionate about ‘fit’ and specifically how creating the right environment can help individuals to reach their full potential and support organisations to thrive. Understanding humans and how they behave at work is key to this. She has lived and worked in Dublin, London, Perth and Sydney and is currently studying for a MSc in Work and Organisational Behaviour. She has a podcast called Happier at Work.

Aoife has been featured on several media platforms speaking about imposter syndrome. Notably, 2FM, Today FM and Her.ie. She has also delivered several key note speeches on this topic and works with organisations to help senior leaders overcome their inner imposter.

In her spare time she loves to travel – she has been to all 7 continents, and has travelled solo through most of the world, with camera in hand. She enjoys connecting with new people and trying new things, and keeps fit by doing yoga, and running.

We will send a link to the zoom meeting to anyone who registers for the event by Monday 25 May 2020 at 2pm. Registration is FREE once done by clicking HERE. We can’t wait to see you there!

This seminar will outline some evidence-based strategies linked to greater outcomes during challenge and change. Psychologists have investigated those who defy the odds and achieve greatest despite upheaval and crisis. The findings of this research are intriguing. They also harness hope. SWIBN May Event – Women’s Health

Hello ladies!

For this month’s SWIBN event, we’ll be talking about something that can be easy to let slip when we’re focused on being succesful in business – health. Too often business people can put their health on the back burner in favour of working longer hours, taking on more stress and doing things that are not condusive to being healthy and happy. This month we’ll be joined by Ann Butler of Higgins Pharmacies who’ll be talking to us about all things health and wellness. Since October 2016, Ann and her twin sister Deirdre have owned Higgins Pharmacies and have become thought leaders on wellness in County Sligo. As well as the usual pharmacy services, Ann and Deirdre have introduced vaccinations, blood pressure and blood sugar testing, cholestorol testing and fertility testing to the Higgins Pharmacy chain.

On the night Ann will be discussing the concept of wellness and how this should be intrinsic to all aspects of your life, especially your business. She’ll be telling us about how wellness is more than being free of illness, it’s actually a dynamic process of change and growth.

There will be the usual opportunities to chat and network with fellow SWIBNers on the night. RSVP is FREE to this event and can be done by clicking HERE. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

SWIBN’S February Main Event

For this month’s SWIBN event, we’re looking to tackle one of the biggest obstacles to growing your business – self doubt. To do this, we’re enlisting the help of Lily Murphy of Blue Heron coaching who will be presenting us with her excellent workshop on confronting self doubt.

Confronting Self-Doubt is a workshop designed to uncover and explore limiting beliefs that keep women stuck, fearful and unfulfilled. Limiting beliefs often show up as negative self-talk such as: ‘I can’t…’, ‘Yes, but…’, I’m no good at…’, ‘I shouldn’t…..’and ‘I could never….’ .

This one hour interactive workshop will help SWIBN members to identify self-sabotaging beliefs and put strategies in place to overcome them, leaving participants free to achieve success, effectiveness, leadership and fulfilment. Though it deals with a serious topic, this is a fun and engaging workshop designed to leave participants with a sense of their own power and a clear strategy for moving forward.

About Blue Heron Coaching:

Lily Murphy is the founder and owner of Blue Heron Coaching.  Lily is an accredited professional Coach, speaker and supervisor with over ten years of experience of coaching senior executives, facilitating change management workshops and inspiring audiences. Blue Heron Coaching was established in 2006 to work with ambitious leaders and teams to clarify what they want to achieve, and to support them to achieve it.

This event will be taking place at 7pm on Tuesday 26th February in the Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo. RVSP for FREE here.
